SLB Locations

The problem is real:

You are working in your location, expecting a transfer soon. You try to explain exactly what you want in a new location, you update your CNP,  you drop hints to your FSM, and after years of waiting you one day receive “the letter”  in the mail. The only problem is, the location on it is somewhere you have never been, maybe in a country you have never visited, and you know nothing about the location.   Oh, and you always have less than a week to move there.

Should you take the transfer? Some friends may say this spot is heaven on earth while others may say it is hell.

If you do take the transfer, what should you bring to the location? Where should you live? Does SLB provide housing?   Anyone who has gone through this process knows how worrisome it can be.

The solution: SLB Locations

The QHSE management system teaches us the best way to deal with potential problems is to be proactive rather than reactive.  If you could find out about a location before you accept it, there would be less chance of major disapointments after you arrive.   Even better, if you could research locations before you get the transfer letter you could better describe what you initially desire.

SLB Locations will be a site where people from all over the world can give their own opinions about locations.    Somewhat similar to a wiki, you’ll be able to submit photos of the location, tell your own experience there, and give your best impression of the location to the internet world.     Just kindly follow the rules or your information may be deleted.  This is the idea.   I need your help to make it a reality.
